User Guide
A practical guide to the Telegram assistant's chats, tools, memory, and settings.
Chatting with the assistant
Send a text message to get a reply. The assistant can also work with photos, voice messages, and stickers. You can ask what this Telegram assistant can do; it answers about its own features.
- Replies are streamed as they are generated. Longer answers may arrive as several consecutive message paragraphs.
- Each chat thread has its own conversation history and summary. Start a new thread when you want a separate topic or a clean context.
- The assistant may search the web automatically when a question needs current or source-based information. You can request a search directly with
/search. - You can send a photo with an optional caption and ask about it in the caption or a follow-up message.
- Send a voice message to have it transcribed and handled as a normal chat message.
- Send a sticker to let the assistant interpret it. Stickers it has seen can be added to your personal sticker library.
Chats and threads
Threads keep separate conversations inside the Telegram chat.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/newchat | Creates a new thread with its own history and conversation summary. |
/reset | Clears the current conversation's assistant context. It does not delete Telegram messages. |
/memessay | Shows the summary of the current conversation, when one exists. |
/memessayrefresh | Condenses the current conversation summary. |
The assistant may create or update a summary as a conversation grows. A summary helps preserve useful context when the full recent conversation no longer fits.
Web search
Use /search your question to ask for a web search explicitly. The assistant returns an answer with source links when available. Search may also be used automatically for a regular message when the assistant determines that up-to-date information would help.
Search results can be incomplete or outdated. Check the cited source for details that matter.
Images
Use /i description of the image to generate an image. Be specific about the subject, setting, style, colors, and composition you want.
You can also use /i description in Telegram's inline mode to prepare an image-generation request for sharing in a chat.
Voice
- Send a voice message to have it transcribed and answered in the current conversation.
- Use
/voice your questionto ask for an audio reply. - Use
/v text to read aloudto generate speech from text. - In inline mode,
/v text to read aloudprepares a voice message for sharing.
Voice recognition may make mistakes, especially with quiet, noisy, or unclear recordings. Review important names, numbers, and instructions.
Memory and profile
The assistant has several kinds of context. They serve different purposes:
- Conversation history belongs to one thread and is used for the ongoing exchange.
- Conversation summary keeps a compact account of a longer thread.
- Personal memory stores individual facts that may be useful across conversations.
- Profile stores a longer personal description or background for context.
Manage personal memory with these commands:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/remember a fact | Saves one personal fact. |
/memory | Lists saved personal facts with their numbers. |
/forget3 | Deletes fact number 3 from /memory. You can also use /forget 3. |
/forgetall | Deletes all saved personal memory facts. |
The assistant may also offer to save useful personal information automatically. You can review and remove saved facts with /memory and /forget.
Manage your profile with:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/profile | Shows your profile, or saves the text you provide. |
/profileadd more context | Adds text to your profile. |
/profileclear | Clears your profile. |
Changing or clearing memory and profile does not erase the messages stored in Telegram.
Response style and instructions
/styleshows your saved style preferences./styleadd ruleadds a writing preference./styleexample request || preferred answersaves an example of the style you want./styleremove3removes style rule number 3 shown by/style./styleclearclears your saved style rules and examples./promptshows your current assistant instructions./promptedit new instructionsreplaces your custom instructions./promptresetrestores the default instructions.
Style preferences and custom instructions apply to future replies. Keep instructions clear and focused.
Settings
Use /settings to open the interactive settings menu. It includes controls for conversation history length, voice, automatic memory and search decisions, and related response preferences.
Other available settings:
/context16sets the number of recent messages used as verbatim conversation context. The accepted range is 4–64. A change takes effect with the next reply./memorythresholdand/searchthresholdadjust the thresholds used for automatic memory and search decisions. The settings menu is the easiest way to review and change them.
Sticker library
Use /stickers to browse your sticker library. To add a sticker, send /stickeradd, then send the sticker as a separate message. The assistant can assign tags to a saved sticker.
From the sticker library you can review or edit a sticker's description and remove stickers. The numbered commands shown in the library are:
/stickerdesc<number> descriptionupdates a sticker's description./stickerdelete<number>removes it from the library.
Sending a sticker in a conversation also lets the assistant interpret it; saving it to the library is not required.
Usage statistics
Use /stats to view request and token-use statistics. The daily view uses Moscow time (UTC+3). The weekly view covers the last seven days, and the all-time view covers all recorded usage.
These figures are the bot's recorded usage and may differ from totals shown in an OpenAI account dashboard.
Using the bot in a group
A group owner can register and configure a group with /group. The assistant can use separate Telegram topics as separate conversations. The owner can create a topic with /newchat or the group menu, and clear the current topic's assistant context with /reset.
The group menu offers three reply modes:
- Auto: replies to all messages while the bot is alone with one participant; after more people join, replies when mentioned or replied to.
- Always: replies to every eligible message.
- Mention: replies only when mentioned or when someone replies to one of its messages.
In groups, the assistant's conversation context is shared by the topic. Do not put private information in a group conversation. The group owner controls group setup and can clear a topic's assistant context; clearing it does not delete Telegram messages.
The General topic is a command-only lobby. Start or open another topic to chat normally.

Files
- Send documents such as PDF, TXT, Markdown, JSON, CSV, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or common code files for the assistant to read.
- You can send several documents together; their combined size of photos and documents in one buffered request must not exceed 1 MB.
- Ask the assistant to create a downloadable file, such as a CSV, spreadsheet, or document. Files it creates are sent back in Telegram.
- Generated files are limited to 1 MB total per reply. Some file creation requests may take longer and incur extra OpenAI tool usage.
- Large or unsupported files are rejected. The assistant may not retain access to an uploaded file after the conversation context is reset.
